For the Time Must Surely Be at Hand

No, I am not asleep in the light. I realize it’s been a couple of weeks since I have written. But I am watching, pondering, musing… and can hardly believe what I see. Now, I fully anticipated all this wonderful “change”, once I saw which way the electoral wind was blowing back in November. It’s not like discerning Americans really didn’t see this coming.

Yesterday was not as shocking as it was a confirmation that people are so thoroughly addicted to their sense of entitlement and victimhood that there is no going back from this broad road to destruction, this one-way street to socialism. Yesterday’s town hall meeting in Florida, going on while the Senate was voting on the bailout contained enough posturing, pandering, choreography, and hero worship to rival the worst televangelist sideshow back in the ’80s. This president should get an Oscar, pacing back and forth with his water bottle, soaking up the adulation and schmoozing with his “flock”. It resembled more a revival meeting than a….than a what? What WAS that anyway? Do they think we can’t see through this charade, that somehow this ’09 version of “The Price is Right” actually has any sense of reality to it? It seems like a bad dream. I get the feeling it is all so orchestrated, from the lady who tearfully asked for a house (c’mon, we don’t even know her story! It might not even be legit) to the fast-food worker who ‘thanked Jesus’ for – something. Obama maybe. I couldn’t tell, I was too busy looking for a sick bag.

Yet, for all the surreality of the headlines today, I know that I know ONE thing: God is on the throne; He puts in and takes out kings. And for all the prophetic studying I have been doing since 1981, I am well aware of where we are on the last days timetable. And to all those who insist that prophecy has no relevancy today, they need to get their heads out of their postmodern epic novels of community filled with vacuous spiritual double-speak, get off their self-righteous missional soapboxes and get with the program: Jesus is coming soon. HIS program is what is on the docket, not ours. I know of what I speak. And if anyone wants to challenge me on that, step right up.

I am more than up to the challenge.
